Dear Goanetters,
Dotor Jose-bab Colaco made a very important comment in a recent
posting . He says :
" Wish they would not repost propaganda from blatantly prejudiced
sites - without checking for possible veracity or possibility...of what
is hearsay "
Now, please have another look at a document titled "Broken peace "
widely circulated on many platforms including this one.
This, according to the author, was a " fact finding " mission to try
and understand the root causes of communal violence. The author
starts by saying that it was ensured that the enquiry is carried out
" objectively "

My first question is , can any document of such sensitive nature
be factual and objective if it contains " hearsay " statements like
the one's starting off as below ?
My next question will follow in a future posting ( depending on the
answers I get to question 1 )
as one of the intellectuals we interviewed told us
shaikh nissar of curchorem recollected how as a child studying in
7th standard
according to ramesh gauns
one of the people we interviewed ( he did not want to be named )
told us
our informant said
c b vaz of assolna has calculated
several people we interviewed , including hindus in bicholim , mupusa
and panaji told us
our investigations have revealed
we were shocked to learn
one muslim leader we talked to in vasco said
the hindu friend said
another muslim leader in curchorem told us
none of the muslims mentioned the fact
many muslims we talked to said
kabir told us / kabir felt / kabir thinks
another muslim businessman ( who did not want to be named ) said
the muslim shopkeeper told us
there were three young men ad a woman who risked speaking to us
the others sitting told us
after speaking to the people of the village , we found that
when enquired,the villagers said
however, when we enquired elsewhere,we found that
luv and regards,
