At home, here in England we are aghast at this sight (& site) amongst others
that you have kindly taken the time to post on this forum over the past year (&
beyond, but that was before my time on this forum).

A year ago when I first joined Goanet, there were warnings from posters but
especially yourself that this was happening already, for some time now but it
was mostly concentrated on the ravages from the builders on pastural land, the
corrupt & inept politicians & vote-riggers, violence & other intimidation from
all around, to ensure the fast buck went into the corporate owners pockets, not
benefitting the Goan people in any way, such as SEZ etc.

Now we see that Goa will indeed resemble the outskirts of Mumbai, Delhi,
Kalkot & Chennai, but to name a few major cities. Just as we are planning our
first trip to Goa since 1961, it appears we will not have to leave Goa at all
if we are curious to see the rest of India, we can see ALL of India by just
touring a few miles outside the main cities of Goa...............

  Sad indeed.

I was in the enchanting village of Cuncoliem in Ponda taluka. Later, I went
for a drive through Keri and surrounds. In Curti, not too far from Goa Dairy
at one end and the Sahakari Spice Farm
by the highway at the other, I came upon a developing slum on a
hillock.............. r
