Kamat Constructions, the producers of this horror film, contributing their mite to Goa's cause. These violations were approved during Monserrate's tenure and are now flourishing under the benign watch of our (in the GBA convener's words) "valiant" and "amazingly farsighted" Digu - == jc's response == Dear all, When I first encountered the images and passion of Rajan Parrikar, I believed that this was a Goan with love for Goa, foresight and non-partisanship; Qualities, I may add, that Goa and ALL Goans would benefit from. Then it occurred to me that this gentleman was possibly a semi-translucent individual with an agenda to get the BJP back into power in Goa. Let me say this upfront - At this moment, it is my belief that there is NO other person in Goan politics who can turn around Goa except Manohar Parrikar. He is intelligent, he is hard-working and he has no apparent reason to be personally corrupt. However, as long as he remains with his apron strings tied up to the communal BJP (the BJP is communal - never mind the few showcase individuals of the Muslim or Christian faiths or the fact that in Goa - these jumping jack politicians are Congress one day, MGP on the day before and BJP when it is convenient). It appears that Goa will continue on its present trend to the destruction of Goan culture and Goa itself - a process started by Bandodkar and carried forward by his successors. Back to Rajan Parrikar. Have you guys seen the venom he spews against my learned colleague Dr. Santosh Helekar? What is the problem? If you cannot get your way - you spit fire? Simple me - I thought that the venom and hatred was only reserved by the bigots for Francisco Xavier, Mother Teresa, Sonia Gandhi and now ...Digu Kaka. What is striking in the above quoted (from Rajan Parrikar) is NOT what is written but what is Omitted. For while it is true that the VIOLATIONS were approved during the tenure of Monseratte, and that they continue to flourish under the watch of Digu, WHO exactly was the CM when Monseratte approved these violations? Was it NOT Manohar Parrikar? If it is so ... WHY did Rajan Parrikar omit the name of Manohar Parrikar from his post - esp when he included the name Digu? It is my present belief that Rajan Parrikar is an extremely smart, accomplished and hard working Goan. But ....I wonder if he is not related to Niccolò di Bernardo, the 15-16th century Italian diplomat, political philosopher, musician, poet, playwright and author of 'principe nuovo' or 'new prince'. (Digital cameras were not yet invented at that time). just my personal view jc references: [1] After he became MLA, Monserrate built his political clout, thanks to the Town and Country Planning Ministry allotted to him by former CM Manohar Parrikar. Raju Nayak in the Indian Express February 21, 2008 [2] Mr Parrikar said the differences he had before the June 2 elections with Mr Monserrate were sorted out amicably and there would not be any clash of interests.
