Gabe,
Your trader instincts are showing ;-)
However, gold is more of an investment to Goans.
It has been that way for centuries.

Gold is down to $910 today, 12% lower than its peak. I have been buying gold
from $280. Every time it hit a round number like $300, $400, $500. $600, $700,
$800, $900 and $1,000 it faced resistance.

The time to sell gold, once again, is when you see pictures of people standing
in front of US banks waiting to buy bullion.

I like your idea of converting bullion to jewelry in the "almost worst case
scenario." It definitely beats the option the good folks of Citibank have now.
They are left with paper, lots of paper. Paper that was worth $10 BILLION
dollars yesterday is worthless today! I guess it takes a financial genius to
make a loss of $10 BILLION in one quarter. Either that or the US banking system
is rotten to the core. But don't worry, there is a use for all that worthless
paper. At this very moment, ex-Citibank employees are using the paper to make
origami objects.

Gold jewelry or paper jewelry, the choice is yours......
