Upon visiting the Taj Mahal at Agra last month, my wife and I were challenged
by the ASI employee at the entrance. He said "You look like an NRI" (he meant
Foreign passport holder but being a lowly paid staffer was ignorantly using the
term interchangeably-----

Paul writes:- People always prefer foreigners to make a fast buck. How can they
have two rates one for Indians and others from abroad? once I along with my
family at the beach and the shack owner refused entry to me saying this was for
foreigners only. When the beer was costing Rs10 the shack owner was charging
something like Rs.45 per bottle.
Once I took my family and family friends to Pascoal spice garden. We had with
us six school going children and they liked to play and make noise. I was
surprised that Pascoal himself asked me to keep the kids quiet-Forigners do
like noise - to which I had to reply- didn't you know this before charging us
exhorbitant fee to see the spice garden ? This is our attitude towards the
local goans itself .
