Upon visiting the Taj Mahal at Agra last month, my wife and I were challenged by the ASI employee at the entrance. He said "You look like an NRI" (he meant Foreign passport holder but being a lowly paid staffer was ignorantly using the term interchangeably-----

When the beer was costing Rs10 the shack owner was charging something like Rs.45 per bottle. Once I took my family and family friends to Pascoal spice garden. We had with us six school going children and they liked to play and make noise. I was surprised that Pascoal himself asked me to keep the kids quiet-Forigners do like noise - to which I had to reply- didn't you know this before charging us exhorbitant fee to see the spice garden ?
