To Goanet - Today it was a pleasure to have Soter D'Souza join me on my morning excursion through Bardez. He is among the 3 or 4 surviving genuine Goan activists fighting for Goa. The rest all have sold us down the River Mandovi (To non-resident Goans who have been wiring their hard-earned money to NGOs etc here: take this to the bank and conserve your cash).
We first dropped by a construction site in Porvorim. The head count of this ward is soon expected to get a significant boost, most of them well-off bhaile - http://www.parrikar.org/images/samples/porvorim-1.jpg http://www.parrikar.org/images/samples/porvorim-2.jpg Later we drove through Pilerne. Remember this photograph posted here last month? http://www.parrikar.org/images/samples/pilerne-march2008.jpg Significant progress has been made in a months' time - http://www.parrikar.org/images/samples/pilerne-april2008.jpg We got to Kegdevelim and I gently directed Soter to the devastated hillside there. At this, he could hold back no more and blurted out, "We Goans have lost our souls !" Warm regards, r
