Dear all, I was about to direct your attention towards this article which is attracting serious attention in this hemisphere when a few "medical" lines from Frederick Noronha caught my attention.
First the article: Bad Medicine in the Market http://www.aei.org/publications/pubID.26368/pub_detail.asp Next the words of Frederick Noronha: 'Systems of medicine like Ayurveda and Homeopathy are similarly devalued and under-appreciated.' == jc's response: Here goes Frederick Noronha once again with this rather intriguing and flat position on medicine. Will Frederick please advise us Who is 'devaluing and under-appreciating' Ayurveda and Homeopathy? Will he please advise us of his evealuation of Ayurveda and Homeopathy, and the basis of his evaluation? It is my position that ALL forms of medicine i.e. Allopathic, Ayurveda and Homeopathy have deficiencies. The deficiencies of Allopathic medicine and the medications are being scientifically studied and reviewed on a continual basis.(The business ploys of Big Pharma and some physicians having been noted). Will Frederick Noronha please advise us of any scientific studies wrt Ayurveda and Homeopathy? I submit that if there is anybody who is causing the devaluing and under-appreciation of Ayurveda and Homeopathy, it is the Ayurvedics and the Homeopaths themselves. They have stubbornly refused to submit themselves and their results to scientific review. In this age of Evidence Based Medicine, the Rights of the Patient to know, the Doctor's duty of care to the Patient, and of Physician liability, only the semi-detached will make the ludicrous observation that Frederick Noronha has made. Especially at a time when a very dark cloud of suspicion is hanging over India's (and China's) ability to control the counterfeit medication industry, it is particularly important we make claims of benefit based on scientifically proven and reproducible data and results...... not on some emotional view point. just my view jc
