It is hard to imagine how invocation of race and gender, and other spurious postmodernist political notions insinuated in the quote below, serves to defend against the fact that "Vedic Mathematics" has been demonstrated to be a fraud by several highly respected contemporary Indian mathematicians on the faculty of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research - Mumbai, Indian Institutes of Technology and Inter University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics - Pune. The statement that Atharva Veda does not contain any of the literally non-mathematical sutras and upasutras of "Vedic Mathematics" does not cease to be true just because the Swami who made that claim was Indian, or because Frederick read something about Marco Polo and China, or that he holds certain beliefs and misunderstandings about racist, sexist and geopolitical biases. Those who are genuinely interested in finding out the facts about "Vedic Mathematics" from a knowledgeable Indian mathematician, rather than digress into a discussion about some unrelated political issues, should read the following scholarly paper by S. G. Dani of TIFR. http://www.tifr.res.in/~vahia/dani-vmsm.pdf You will need the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader program to open this PDF document.
