NEW DELHI, JUNE 21 (Agencies) — The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has alleged that the family of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, including his son Raninder Singh and his media adviser Bis Chahal, had bought four flats in Goa. The bureau has registered a case of disproportionate assets under the Prevention of Corruption Act, under Sections 7, 8, 9, 13, 131 (d) and (e), as well as under Section 120 of the IPC. The former chief minister and his son have been asked to report for questioning at the Patiala circuit house on July 6. Vigilance sources said that one Chetan Gupta purchased the four flats for Amarinder in both Goa and Noida. Amarinder and his family have been accused of amassing a huge amount of property, including four flats each in Noida and Goa, besides property in Dubai, Sweden, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. He is also accused of depositing $200,000 in a Swiss account, besides taking bribes while passing mega projects. The former chief minister, however, claims that the entire case is a desperate attempt by the ruling Akali Dal in league with his detractors in the Punjab Congress to prevent his return to active politics. ******** Regards, r
