QUESTION: I wonder if the Nazareth who was a barrister and one time
Politician from Nairobi, Kenya was a member of this same family?
Nazareth's father is mentioned in Ms Albuquerque's book on Kenya
Goans, he is reported to have walked all the way from Mombasa to

Dear Gabe,

Although Augusto's Uncle Nazareth is a mythical one, the Nazereth you are
referring to is probably John Maximian (Mackie) Nazareth, who was also known
as "QC". apparently, he was the first Goan to be appointed Q.C.

The young Nazareth, John Lawrence, you have mentioned is Mackie's grandson.

The Dr. Vincent Xavier de Sa also mentioned on that page is the nephew of
Mackie. The Nazareth and de Sa family have many interconnections through
marriage.
