I have this joke with myself that I want all the Goans from Goa to the Gulf, to
UK to US, gunning for me. After that I will hope my husband gets an assignment
in Sweden, where I will have only Alfred Tavares to write about :-)

But jokes aside, lately I've been feeling compromised on Goanet. When one has
been on this site for a couple of years, one develops friendships or at least
unofficial allies. People who've sided with you in the past, supported your
point of view or generally been kind and affable. It becomes very hard to voice
arguments against these people and still maintain friendship. (Perhaps Roland
and Frederick are the only two I can think of, where I've succeeded and even
there I wouldn't want to push the envelope).

Then there are abusive posters who you simply want to keep away from or have
been warned to keep away from. There are last wordists, the I'll
take-everything-personally, the I'm going-to-be-contrary for the sake of it,
the I'll drag-past-history-or-personal-insults into the mix. Which pretty soon
covers the whole of Goanet including me. You decide not to respond to these
posts, including my own :-) Of late there seems to be more than the usual
cantankerous moods.

Is it really worth posting in a compromised state?
