Belated birthday wishes to you.
No sweat about the "Moderator" of the Citizens' Initiative. He is a
devil we know. Thank you for announcing in your "vote of thanks" the
other devils whom we did not know earlier. The debate exposed the
rest.
I do hope the excess of expenditure over income/collection was
underwritten by IITian S. Kamat and Dr. U.G. Barad who motivated you.
One played truant, the other used the platform. I hope they paid the
bill for the hall and sound system.
Dr. Ajit Shirodkar, with a Ph.D. from Purdue University, was perhaps
the best speaker of that evening. Given a chance, Dr. Narayan Desai
also makes a good speaker. He was wasted as a surprise "assistant" to
Mr. M.S. Kamat. Dr. Narayan Desai is a Ph. D. in Political Science and
a great man to be with. Dr. Shirodkar is , of course, a class apart.
Please do not used the terms "educated and enlightened" for
boot-lickers who will praise even a toad and call him a prince .....
if paid sufficiently to do that. They are a blot on the human race.
Some of these folks are literate and in possession of degrees, just
that. Education should be ABC ...Attitudenal and Behavioural Change.
You have stated the reasons why you had MSK as Moderator, you kept
your promise not to mix Goa SuRaj Party with the CI. That is enough
for me to do what I promised .... to support the initiative by my
presence and action. No apologies needed to me from you. Life is a
learning experience.

When I opened-up today's Herald and the Navhind Times, Mauvin Godinho fell
out on my lap, courtesy Prof. M.S. Kamat. I have just called up Prof.
M.S. Kamat at his Porvorim residence (0832)2411291
Well sir, I find it difficult to understand how you educated and enlightened
people can stoop so low as to fall at the feet of these chors. And
you shamelessly write about it?"
My million apologies to Sam, Jose Colaco, Miguel Braganza et al who were
worried about Professor M.S. Kamat having been chosen by Floriano Lobo. And
Miguel was right in suggesting other names of which Mr. Ajit Shirodkar could
have been the man for the first of its kind 'CI' .
Even then, as a slim justification for my going thro' with my original
decision, I went by the fact that 'moderating' an academic debate had
nothing to do with the character of a person, especially when the decision
had been taken and public announcements made. Now I know better.
And we say that Goa is being looted by our politicians. Nay. We must now say
that Goa has been allowed to be looted by people who pose as high principled
guardians of our society, whether they are inside or outside the walls of
religious institutions, but who are either rotten to the core or have a
back-bone made of jelly who will only look for their continuation in service
rather than retaliate as a principle of justice.
I do hope that I shall be FORGIVEN in respect of having M.S. Kamat moderate
the CI debate.
