My family and I would like to thank everyone for the many messages of sympathy and prayerful support we received on the recent death of our Felix. We were very touched by the sentiments expressed and we received lots of courage to enable us to carry out our duty of saying a final and sad farewell to our Felix in Vancouver. We hope and pray that God will grant him eternal peace. Fr Francis (Goan Chaplain) has very kindly agreed to celebrate the Konkani Mass at 5pm, Sunday 31st August, at Our Lady & St. Christopher's Church, Cranford in Felix's memory. Once again , with our very grateful thanks regards and best wishes

He passed away in Vancouver, British Colombia after a short illness and following is a short recap of his life. Jose Feliciano de Quadroons (or Felix as he was more normally known) was born on August 3rd, 1938 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania After a short time studying in Goat, Felix returned to Dar Es Salaam and worked for the East African Railways and Harbours Board. During his long time with the EAR&H he also did stints in Tabora, Mwanza, Mtwara and then returned to Dar Es Salaam after the break up of the East African Union. While in Mtwara Felix married Bernadette Gonsalves (who he had met in Tabora) and they had two sons Michael and James. In his younger days Felix played hockey for the various Goan clubs and was a very avid football fan, especially Manchester United. In November 1975 Felix and his family moved to North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Felix worked for the BC Rapid Transit Company until his retirement in November 2007. Felix was always a larger than life figure in our family and was very much loved and respected by all especially the many nieces. With a smile on his face and a strange logic he somehow saw everything very clearly and always had a lot of good advice and help without complain (although I never understood how he liked to listen to Shania Twain - the reason he gave that she was Canadian didn't wash with me, and when I told him that Neil Young was better and a Canadian to boot, he said 'yeah he is good' and after a few minutes 'but Shania is better') Felix is survived by his wife Bernadette and sons Michael and James, granddaughter Edwina, sisters Tereza (Vancouver, Wa), Celina (Seattle) and Yvonne (Seattle) and brothers/sisters-in-law Melecio/Alba (Toronto), Joseph/Alcina (Vancouver) and Ciril/Anna (England) and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The funeral service for Felix will be on Friday July 25th, at 11 am at the Holy Trinity Parish Church 2725 Lonsdale Avenue North Vancouver, BC V7N 3J2 604-988-6304 followed by a reception in the Church Hall with kind regards and best wishes Ciril de Quadros Slough, England & Raia, Goa 'no one is so rich that they cannot receive, no one is so poor that they cannot give' Fr Tony Lopez, SFX Visit our website at http://www.halcrow.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The contents of this email are confidential, for the sole use of the intended recipient at the email address to which it has been addressed and do not give rise to any binding legal obligation upon Halcrow companies unless subsequently confirmed on headed business notepaper sent by fax, letter or as an email attachment.
