the fourth consecutive year that Kingfisher has been auditioning for Singing
Sensations in Goa. The enthusiasm of participants was evident from their very
professional aptitude, stage presence and some even chose to bring along their
own instruments.

The competition is immense, as Goa has so many talented singers, which really
makes even the choice tough on the judges. The contest primarily looks at
selecting a winner who will get into a contract with Kingfisher for a year and
the bounty of winning a whopping 3 lakh in the final round to be held on
November 9 at Goa Racing Track, Nuvem. The participant requires to be 18 years
and above and have a melodious voice to participate. The participant is also
allowed to use back-up music without vocals.

The auditions are being carried out in the English Category and the Indian
Language Round which includes all languages including Konkani, Hindi, etc. The
winner at the finals to be held for the Indian Language Round on November 8,
will take home booty of Rs 50,000 cash prize. Both the Final Rounds will be
held at Goa Racing Track, Nuvem.
At the auditions there were participants who took part in both categories, the
auditions are set in two rounds before they are shortlisted for the finals. The
first audition was held at five different places on October 11, at Mandovi
Quarterdeck, Panjim, on October 15; at Green Park, Mapusa will be held on
October 18; at Vasco Residency in Vasco on October 22; at Alua, Merces, on
October 24 at Clube Harmonia, Margao.

This gives an opportunity from participants from all over Goa to compete at
ease and close to home. The shortlisted candidates will then go in for the
semi-finals for the Regional Round on November 1 and English Round on November
2 at Kesarval Garden Retreat.
The participants were even backed by the audience as they clapped and joined in
the rhythm and boosted the enthusiastic participants to qualify for the semis.
Many participant families and friends also gathered for moral support and
encouragement.

The judge's decision is based mainly on your voice, the choice of your song,
versatility and other musical intonations. The participant can also participate
from another venue if he/she does not qualify from one venue, which means you
get a chance to improve.
