*The below is a attachement from NDTV news... The Government has taken the killing of an indiviual hailing from UP to a high level investigation just within a few days..My hats off to them.. The people involved in takeing away a life which you get only once needs to be brought to book. The perpetrators need to be given their justice as well. What I cannot understand is right now when there is so much of violence, torture, death, rape of the innocent due to the unrest in the areas of Orissa and partly in South India on claim of killing a Hindu Priest,on religious grounds, why has the govermnment not taken any action? *UP man killing: Maharashtra govt pledges stern action NDTV Correspondent Wednesday, October 29, 2008, (Badlapur) The Maharashtra government has sent a preliminary report to the Home Ministry confirming that the man hailing from Uttar Pradesh was beaten to death on the train. Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil has said his government is taking all possible steps to check the violence and will take stern action against the offenders. Maharashtra government has announced a compensation of Rs two lakh for the family of Dharamdev Rai, a UP labourer beaten to death on Mumbai local train.*
