countries done?">>

Native Goans have done the following in the 20th & 21st century:
1. Liberated Goa from Portuguese rule.

2. Made Goa as a Union Territory of India instead of merging with Maharashtra.

3. Attained a better status for Goa from Union Territory to State of Republic
of India

4. Included the language of our ancestors “Konkani” into the Constitution of
India.

5. Help thousands of lazy Goans (who were not willing to work in Goa) to send
them to Gulf and other countries to work. Now, they do work abroad but few of
them complain calling "very hard work" for normal work. BTW, Foreign currency
remitted by them have benefited India (not directly Goa). Now, have
established "NRI Commission" for them and others.

6. Now, Goans employing tens of thousands non-Goans (Benard Colaco may call
them Bhartis) in Goa, particularly in Tourism industry. (Overseas Goans are
welcome back but only if they can speak Konkani and compete with them (neither
priority nor reservation quota but only competency).

7. At the moment, the ratio between Goans and non-Goans is controllrd - that is
about 63:37

8. In Goa, we are lacking menpower at all levels. Unfortunately, we prefer more
non-Goans then 'Overseas Goans' so we get them and we make plenty of money.
And, to comfort their stay in Goa, we provide them Shelter, Ration card, School
with their language as medium, Pan shops, etc.

9. Children born in Goa to non-Goan parents are given entitlement to call
themselves as Goans with full status including with all Goa State Welfare
Benefits.

10. Bishop of Goa has instructed us to treat non-Goans with Loves, dignity,
care, compassion and to share with them. In some Churches regular Masses are
said in Hindi on Sundays (may be Calangute Church has given the lead)

11. Taken care of our Freedom Fighters by giving them sufficient pension.

12. Taken care of our Politician by giving them a good pension.

13. Till now we have managed to retain the name of the land of our ancestors as
"Goa".

In near future, the percentage of non-Goans will increase soon to over 50% then
we have to change the name of "the land of our ancestors" to "Bharti Goa" or
similar as per their demand.

Unfortunately, then all overseas Goans may have to call themselves as "Overseas
Bharti Goans".
