I know that Goans at one time had representation in Municipal councils in
Tanzania and perhaps even in Kenya.
Can someone ex-Tanzania or ex-Kenya briefly shed some light on this, for
example exactly what it entailed.
I think possibly later on in kenya this privilege was revoked as it became
debatable whether Goans were indeed distinct from Indians, although the general
consensus in the British Colonial office at the time was that they were.
I know I can look this info up at the archives but its cold out here and I'm
much too lazy to take the train there :-)
