Thanks Maa Well, that was my first film at IFFIgoa2008. Others didn’t want to join me so I had to watch alone. I was not all alone; there were about 1000 other people too. The Kala Academy auditorium was full to the capacity and some people seen standing behind the rows.
The movie is all about the street children (Abandoned kids, runaway kids etc)The makers of the film had put in lot of efforts to spread the message across. It looks to me the kids are really from the street as their acting was so natural. The film is of typical street kids (Bombay kids) with typical street language such as ‘Ganddu’ Maa Ka chutt’ ‘Bhosddeka’ ‘Hedda’ ‘Saley’ etc etc. (The same Goa version is ‘Cheddiechea’ ‘Fodrechea’ ‘Maim Zounnea’etc) Their lining up for answering early morning nature’s call reminded me of those who line up at Panjim River side (and offcourse, Bombay early morning railway tracks) The film made every body laugh and the film made every body cry too. Spontaneous audience applause (clapping) through out the film had the film even more colourful. The film has shown all sort of social aspects or the social evils that street kids face such as the leaders at young offenders centre (Rehabilitation centre)abusing the kids (strangely this role was given to Alok Nath), Father abusing daughter etc etc. The five street kids done very well. They are MUNICIPACITY, SODA, CUTTING, SURSURI & DHED SHANNA. And there is a little baby too (Krissh is few days old). Municipality find a baby abandoned by her mother. He tries his best to find the baby a suitable foster parents….In the end he determines to trace the baby’s mother himself. Did he find the real mother? Yes, in the end he did find out the mother. But how could he give the baby to the mother when he sees the young mother being sexually abused by her own father? At this time, he reluctantly, hand over the baby to a orphanage and vows to take him back when he grows older. Congratulations to the Kids, the Director/producer and the entire crew. The film with a message to all. Guess, what? After the film, when we come out from the auditorium, I was surprised to see all the five kids actors… I immediately took out my camera and tried to capture them all. So, here they are..
