Goans for the past 46 years have been given to believe that 19 of Dec is the 'Liberation' Day of Goa. In 1510 Afonso de Albuquerque on the behest of my cousins Timoja and Poi Liberated Goa from the Mouros. Incidentally the day celebrates the feast of St. Catarina. Today who knows what would have happened without the actions of Albuquerque. Maybe all of us would have been kappas. BC
