While there is much truth to what is said in the rest of the above post, this criticism of Amartya Sen is unfair. Sen has discussed at great lengths the heterodoxy, rationalist tradition and tolerance among the Hindus, both historically and in contemporary India. His rejection of Hindutva chauvinism rests on sound reasoning and solid grounds. Cheers, Santosh
