Dear Joe, You have to be more precise, since your images are All Rights Reserved. So since you are giving Lionel Messias or say anyone else pemission, make it clear that you are giving it to use your images only in O Herald and not if they writes in any other paper. I presue you know all the copyright options that are offered on the flickr ites. In fact you must provide the exact byline, or even place it under ever photograph on your site; since with your reach (in terms of your images on flickr) your images on flickr are a trove for lazy editors / and designers, and of course newspaper barons (perhaps not quite, but at this point one becomes a "barrao" in any case) not willing to have a budget for photos. In your case this may not be the end of it.
Also, (c) is not recognized as a legitimate copyright symbol. It has to be the c in a circle, as in (c) but in credits this is not often ignored. Once it appears in the paper and is credited with a name, that is credit enough usually. I am sure there is a copyright lawyer on Goanet reading this who could be of help. Perhaps if its one paragraph he/she would write on it could be on this subject. Ah, anyway. venantius > Date: Sun, 7 Dec 2008 08:03:42 +0000 (GMT) > From: JoeGoaUk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [Goanet] Talking photos: Check who is taking whom for a > ride.. > > I am sorry, Lionel, although I like your article, as always, on Ferryboat > (readers can read from above) but where is my credit? > > OK, here is the deal, next time if you wish to take any of my pics just > mention > ?Pic by JoeGoaUk? or just mention ?JoeGoaUk? as newspapers usually mention > just above or below the pic. > And you can take it w/o the prior permission (pl also notify me if you know > when it will be published).
