I certainly object to Goan NRI's having a sponsored romp in the touristic
places of Goa at the cost of the tax payer.

When our villages do not install new sodium vapour lamps because they cannot
afford replacements of the bulbs, and with the financial melt down affecting
the life of the common man, should tax payers money be spent on such
frivolities?

If young Goan NRIs want to find their roots they can jolly well do so at
their own cost or that of their parents and not at the cost of Joao Chari .

And frankly speaking, isn't the job of the commissioner for NRI Affairs just
a sop given to keep the senior politician from meddling in local politics
(just like the sop given to the old fox from Saligao)?
