CII-DIPP Nationwide Awareness Campaign on Intellectual Property Rights Panaji - 3 Feb 2009: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM) is organizing a nation wide Awareness Campaign on Intellectual Property Rights for various stakeholders, focusing the attention of the Industry on the role & importance of Intellectual Property in their business. The awareness session would be organized in 14 different locations spreaded all over India in the next two months. In Goa, the prog is being held on 26 February 2009 at Hotel Mandovi. There is no registration Fee, However prior registration is a must. This Campaign is the follow on activities of the National Campaign launched on 26th April, 2008 the IP Day, by the Department of Industry Policy & Promotion under the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Govt. of India. The objective of the Campaign is to make the industries aware about the intellectual property system or the protection it can provide for their inventions, brands, and designs. Insufficient information on the relevance of intellectual property rights in day-to-day business, high costs associated with obtaining and enforcing IP rights & to demystify the knowledge on creating & protecting ones IP. This is an initiative of CII & DIPP to impart basic awareness on IPR, the practices, systems adopted in our Country and to determine a wide range of priorities and action plans, including the exchange of good practices and assessing the impact of latest amendments in Indian Patent Regime.
