Hi Eddie Bab, First of excuse my misspelling kudds. The only way I can respond is by explaining the intent. This idea, one of a couple is to have a party after my show in Oct 2009 and it would be for just an evening. Secondly, to my mind, why not a kudd? A Goan institution. Or perhaps on someones roof/gathchi. I find it hard to lean in the direction of a hall--somehow too sterile. No one in living in the kudd would be displaced even for a minute. So a place where invited people especially Goans and others from Mumbai and surrounding areas and some of my friends would get to meet and talk. And talk, and talk, and eat. And we rent a baby grand piano, have a super pianist and listen to a bit of jazz. If it is at all possible to rent a kudd, that would be great, if not then it was just an idea. Any money paid as rent would not be secret. Everything upfront. If no money accepted, then my special blessings.
Now something from our college days: The more hardier ones could stay up all night or nap. Then get up in the morning and hit the Irani. etc., or we get breakfast ordered. (Open to SPONSORS) Or variations on this theme. I believe police permission would be necessary in any case. Now that this is in the open, and if it happens, the only thing left would be for the gathering to get infiltrated by Orwellian creatures. Hahahahaha. Wow, Chinchinim is in a totally different league. I have been to a couple of kudds when I was young, I believe the Batim one (small) and another one close to it in the neighboring building. Thanks for providing answers to the question regarding Goan Hindus, and on women 'kuddistas" : ) (joking, joking).
