Dean D'cruz's message has been clear and consistent over the past year.
He is against the 2021 plan because it will destroy Goa, its environments
(water table) and its way of life.
He pointed out that the current land grab and the projects being drawn for that
land
will give Goa one of the highest population densities in India. It will result
in traffic
congestion and no water supplies, among other problems.
We heard his message, delivered by him, last year at his presentation here in
Toronto.
Dean mentioned that he travelled to Toronto, at his own expense, to get the
support
of any one who is concerned about this.
Secondly, before his presentation on the 2021 plan, Dean introduced himself with
a show on some of his completed projects of tourists facilities, built all
over India. Anyone
watching his show will leave with the impression that Dean takes pain to
integrate/
blend his projects into the natural beauty of the site. He does this by trying
as much
as possible NOT destroy the trees or flora of the area.
Third, Dean also provided us info on what he is currently doing for the
environment
in Goa. Apart from trying to stop the destruction of his village, he has also
provided
a motor vehicle to a group that tries to monitor/stop illegal destruction of
the environment.
Lastly, he assured us that even though some may think he was appointed to the
2021
committee so that the builders could soften him up, that appointment has
actually given
him a platform to inform people of what they face if the 2021 plan is passed in
its
current form.
