Let me lay down some aspects that your stupid mind can't even comprehend.

Goa isn't the place to only come feast, drink and dance. We are people of the
soil. Its our sovereign right to protest if we find just able clauses to do so.
No one can stop free speech and for matters of this magnitude a call for
protest comes naturally. the resolution to stand against it takes commitment,
sparking the front is just the begging. Awareness only helps people come
together to tackle a problem before it goes out of control. Believe me it's not
a small issue and setting up a blog does not mean you broadcast it 10times a
single minute on any news channel as for Mumbai 9/11, wish that would be the
case. Jobless enough to write crap? Guess your past all that cause you don't
only write crap yourself but also spend time masticating other peoples crap as
well.

Denial of public access to beach:
Firstly the size of the beach does not matter as long as its a beach rules and
regulations will apply and are equal for all and should be respectively
amended. Also apart from restricting the fishermen from entry to the beach
which would mean stealing their livelihood, access to the same is also lost for
the general public who enjoy an occasional fresh breeze or a stroll on the
shore. And all this for what for commercial purposes, thats not considered
community upfiftment of the local bodies, its deemed privatization. If it is
allowed any further people would be kicked out/ shot dead for trespassing.

Illegal construction:
punishments are imposed to lesson the offenders from doing the same in the
future. What if its not the only encroachment sight for protest but at least
its the first to begin with and in a short span of time we shall eradicate all
such illegalities. One does not give up on crime because its prevalent or bound
to happen again, but rather tame it as much as possible to the level that it
seizes to exist. Talking about hurting people, is a man's life more important
than having marginal loss incurred on the companies profit & loss sheet?

Environmental Destruction:
They don't clean the beach out of fondness or some sort of attachment to the
beach, rather to keep up their five star rating. We are tax payers and it's the
duty of the public works to carry out maintenance apart from spreading
awareness and imposing fines for loitering the beaches. Economic forces are
only to influence the demand of the tourists to have a lead in the market.
Catering to people like yourself is business, prices the bait for indulgence.
There is much more to environmental destruction than meets the eye, countless
number of ecosystems lie in the balance, erosion and many other factors.

One cannot give example to support a wrongdoing, thats so lame. You can't say
Oh a minister's son has done it open fold and got away with it why not try it
myself at a smaller scale. It's some people's view to stereotype governments as
corrupt, for various reasons. One should realize their power of voting and
question these people directly while on rally for election, no deliberate
inefficiencies should be tolerated after all they only agreed to shoulder these
many responsibilities or step down and let a deserving person take charge. I
know even after say a new candidate gets through the sheer sums of money
involved could alter his perception, but all this should not come in the way of
the oat the person takes while appointment, think of all the soldiers at the
borderline - please show some solidarity to them at least for protecting us the
very fabric of our beloved country.

Employees are salaried personnel, upon completion of their tenure they will
just pack their belongins take their savings and return to their rural
localities. Leaving little or none to the envirnment. One can't rely on the
vested interests of the Company, which may soon impose their own jurisdiction
and put forth their wants and conditions. And needs to be teach a lesson, a
lesson to stand tall as a testiment for all who think of any such behaviour.

I am sorry for my sarcastic tone and sentimental outburst. Blah! Blah! Blah!
Grow up!

Dear Samir,

I have stayed at Cidade De Goa and we had a 2nd honeymoon at that
place, so I was shocked at first when I read your mail and then the
blog.

But, after some deeper thinking I felt that I should express my true
feeling. Now, I believe that this petition is an utter sham. And I
would request you to actually visit the place and then talk about it
rather than mail this based on this blog, a person who is jobless
enough to write crap. The worst part about democracy and freedom of
speech is that it popularizing something small can cause stupid issues
to be magnified in an obscene manner.

Denial of public access to beach: You should see the beach, it is an
extremely small beach. I doubt that the public lost much if they lost
something. Don't take my word for it visit the place(visiting does not
require you to pay to the hotel) and then you will understand. And
Illegal construction: This was the funniest bit, because all they have
done is placed some rocks and built a small wall at each side to block
access. And I know of several several other such "encroachments" and
private beaches in Goa, but no only cidade de goa must be boycotted,
umm probably because only they can be hurt, hey it's no fun to punish
the small time fisherman, he is just trying to feed his family.

Environmental Destruction: Get real!!! The hotel actually takes pains
to maintain, enforce and keep the beach clean as they have done for
over 20+ years! Because this is a private beach and their livelihood
depend on it, they enforce rules, ask guests to follow norms, clean up
heavily after beach parties. They have a vested commercial interest in
cleaning their own beach. And you know what, after all this
maintenance & cleaning of their private beach, they are still cheaper
than other 5 star hotels without beaches, something i learned while
trying to economize my own trip.

Want to see actual environmental destruction of a beach, visit Baga
Beach, the public beach and you will observe it. I guess the public is
really awesome at maintaining cleanliness! <extreme sarcasm>. After
all, the small-time boat operators at the beach, the poor guys only
want to feed their kids. And the public that leaves the beach dirty
after a party, heck that is why tourists come -- can't expect the
corrupt government to clean it now can you. But no, Cidade De Goa,
yes, they are the bad guys, they are big commercial enterprise, they
deny access to a beach and they keep it nice and clean (relatively to
other goan beaches).

I am sorry for my sarcastic tone and sentimental outburst. But after
reading all the documents, I agree with the court, (LONG, SKIP to
next para if you want) , "The public trust doctrine primarily rests on
the principle that certain resources like air, sea, waters and the
forests have such a great importance to the people as a whole that it
would be wholly unjustified to make them a subject of private
ownership. These resources are a gift of nature, therefore, they
should be freely available to everyone irrespective of one's status in
life. This doctrine puts an implicit embargo on the right of the State
to transfer public properties to private party if such transfer
affects public interest."

EXCEPT, the public in question is about 100 local citizens (less than
the number of hotel's employees, who earn their living from the hotel)
and the beach is less than 500m in size --- ideal for a private hotel
beach --- and devastating small for public. But then the judge didn't
go to Cidade De Goa either, so I truly cannot blame him.

Lastly, I also wont' go to Cidade De Goa now, because I feel that a
good clean beach it had is now destroyed.

<sarcasm>
SAVE THE PUBLIC!!! BRAVO, WELL DONE !!! ENCORE !!!
We stopped those b******s at Cidade De Goa from making profits. And
when the hotel lays off staff, well those workers just deserved for
working for that commercial enterprise.
