Dont know that much about this great Goan (thanks JoeGoaUK and his talkign
photos). Thanks to my
father who single-handedly took pains to repair the statue of this great
Goan which is there near Margao Communidade building, I know a bit. This
person's statue btw was knocked down by a truck one night.

Dr. FLGomes died when he was hardly 40 I think sometimes in the late 1800
hundreds. He was highly regarded by the Portuguese I am told, and thought very
highly of
India, and propounded the fact that it was the birthplace of chess and
Mahabharata, and asked for complete
freedom for India.

Those who think of Goa to be a separate land may give a thought to why
this great Goan though otherwise.

regards,
Samir
