MD, One of the most fascinating things for Canadians vacationing in Cuba is that there are no loud US citizens there.
Canadian firms have been investing a lot in Cuba and the big payoff is just around the corner as soon, US firms will legally be allowed to invest in Cuba. I have list of Canadian companies that will do extremely well when the US embargo is lifted, My star choice, a Canadian firm called Sherrit, which has oil and nickle deposits in Cuba, was up 25% today. Right up to today, a US citizen living in Florida which is only 90 miles away from Cuba, had to travel all the way to Toronto to catch a flight to Cuba. Yes, we do live in very interesting times. The White House made the formal announcement during presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs' daily briefing with reporters in both English and Spanish. "People were already planning to travel more based on their ability to go every 12 months," said Aral, owner of ABC Charters. "Whether they can travel more frequently than that* depends on the economy*." Or like the Cubans did, now poor Americans and Cuban Americans can travel in make shift boats to be rescued by Cuban Coast Guard. But though Americans treat visitors differently (I heard even ex India's Union Cabinet Minister was strip searched!!), they would expect Roayl treatment once in Cuba. Enjoy the Hawanas, atleast American dollars may buy some now!! __________________________________________________________________ Instant Messaging, free SMS, sharing photos and more...
