Politics was meant to be a dedicated mission. Unfortunately, it has become a very lucrative business. Politics should not have been allowed to be the scoundrel's last resort.
Unless India’s whole political and electoral procedures are totally revamped and overhauled, this current sad state is a vicious spiral which will only get worse. Goa, being a small state, should have led by example. Unfortunately we have joined the national mainstream. And very soon, the quality of our MLAs will be no different to those in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. National integration in a wrong direction. Aires Rodrigues Ribandar
