Goan Writer to deliver Key-note Address in Delhi
The fourth and the final volume of Knit India Through Literature, a backbreaking ambitious project of the eminent Tamil writer Sivasankari, will be launched in New Delhi at a grand book release function organized by Sahitya Akademi on 27th May 2009, at 6 p.m. at India International Centre. The book will be released by veteran Hindi writer Krishna Sobti. Eminent writer Damodar Mauzo will deliver the Key-Note Address. Distinguished littérateurs Shri Gurudayal Singh, Ms Naseem Shefai, Gulzar and Dr. Mukhopadhyaya will be the guests of honour. Dr.S.S.Noor, vice-president of Sahitya Akademi will chair the function. The KITL project sprawled over four voluminous books with over sixteen hundred pages has projected eighteen languages, including Konkani, various language-wise regions and over a hundred eminent writers. The fourth volume has covered five languages of the North viz. Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Kashmiri and Sanskrit with which Sivasankari’s efforts of knitting India through the knowledge of each other’s literary heritage,comes to an end .
