Goan Ministers and Casinos
This damn world is full of evil, and it's flourishing all round us, but we are very seldom abashed by it, in some cases we even claim it to be a social necessity, and try to accommodate it in our day to day life. Evil is evil no matter how we perceive it, but just to ease our guilty conscious we wrap it like a candy and present it to the naïve as a social necessity. Worlds oldest profession prostitution, gambling, corruption just to take a few, the fact of the matter is, we are not affected by any of these until and unless we learn about it and want to experience it so would I be wrong to say ignorance is bliss and knowledge is folly ? Would we be better off if we were ignorant ? Or is knowledge the root cause of all evil ? Prostitution is mostly believed to be an evil social necessity and to an extent it may be right, because without it, may be all our women and children could have been at a greater risk than they now, not they are completely safe, corruption and gambling on the other hand are evils but certainly not necessities, which society could very well do without, gambling has ruined a lot of lives and homes of the rich as well as the poor and is certainly very addictive, so we have to make sure that we don't lead others to it either, but as per today's news paper reports as many as five Goan ministers have been found frequenting the gambling den floating in the river Mandovi, what legacy are we leaving the youngsters today ? The guardians and the law makers themselves perpetuating and patronising these dark holes. It's a disgrace to Goa and Goans. This is one reason that people have such cynicism about the lack of principles amongst our politicians and controversies are no deterrents to this shameless secession of the elites. Corruption is another evil that has made the lives of Goans a living hell, Goa has been declared as one of the most corrupt state in India, it is our Goan politicians who have vindicated this sacrilege on Goa and Goans, with all the usual diversions and evasions of truth, in a most cowardly or ludicrous manner to accumulate wealth, in fact corruption and politician have become a much hyphenated word, only problem being which of the two is the progenitor, did politicians give rise to corruption or corruption give rise to politicians ? Elections will be held in two years and this is something we Goans have to look into and do a real soul searching and come up with valid answers as to why we elect these progenitors of evil to govern us or should we let them govern us in future ? Goa and Goans, it's time to reflect and ponder the type of Goa we are looking for !!!
