The renovation work of the Church taken up by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH ) at a cost of Rs. 4.88 crore is expected to complete in 3 years from May/June 2008 St. Anne feast, at Talaulim on 26th July, 2009 Some highlights: - The feast Mass started at 10.15 and ended after 12.15 –Too long, many mourned. - After the mass (but before the final blessing), thanks giving etc, itself taken about 30 minutes by the Parish Priest Fr. Lourdinho Pereira (seen pic- third from left.) - No enough seating arrangement was made although there was plenty of room inside the church - The whole feast was like ‘Congress Govt. Sponsored’ - Mention of Digambar Kamat was more than 6 times during the High Mass. - ‘ Francis Silveira’ he is often referred to as ‘Sir’ by the Parish priest himself. His name was mentioned 6 times. He was seen sitting on the front bench. Twice the Parish Priest said’ I had gone to Digambar House to offer him Touxim, last year’. Twice it was said, Digambar was to come today but had to rush to New Delhi. A new pictorial book on the historical church ‘A Living Architectural splendor’ by Rosario Rodrigues of Agassaim (Same author who published books on Goa-Velha Santamchem Pursao for the last two years) was also available for sale for Rs.400 (cover Price Rs.550) Ok.
