MARGAO, AUG 1
The Sarpanch of Nagoa Domingo Dias has called upon the villagers of Verna,
Loutolim, Cortalim/Quelossim, Consua to join hands with them in monitoring
and regulating the influx and movement of migrants and ensuring that Goans
remain in control of their respective ancestral villages, enjoying the
security and peace.
He said the people of Nagoa were shocked to hear of the circumstances
leading to the tragic death of Sudan Dabole, son of Ucassaim village on July
17 in the neighbouring village of Consua.
“The villagers of Nagoa are distressed and horrified that the entire
shameful operation was planned and executed from their village who are
enjoying the hospitality of the people of Nagoa”, he said.
The Sarpanch said the Village Panchayat of Nagoa, on behalf of its people,
is extending its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family
our fellow Goan Sudan Dabole. “The people of Nagoa assure the family of
Sudan that his supreme sacrifice will not go in vain. Already, a village
Panchayat Vigilance Committee has been constituted to work in cooperation
with the local police in checking the antecedents of migrants and ensuring
that landlords who let out their premises to migrants keep to the rules and
regulations of the land”, he added.
