Off-shore casinos cause losses: Goa mining industry - *Panaji, Aug 7 (PTI)* Presence of off-shore casinos in the Mandovi river causes navigational hindrances and delays the iron ore transportation which causes losses in the business, Goa's mining industry has claimed. "The barges (ships carrying iron ore) are delayed almost by one hour which is affecting the business," Anil Salgaoncar, owner of M/s Salgaoncar mining industries Pvt limited, told reporters here. The space occupied by off-shore casinos is a traditional inland waterway for the barges to transport ore from state's hinterland to the minor port where trans-shippers are anchored. The ore is unloaded into the trans-shippers, which transports it to foreign destinations. Salgaoncar said that the off-shore casino vessels which are "standing obstacles" causes navigational hindrances.
