Two new showrooms/office spaces, double height (135 sq m each with bath) for lease in upscale Campal/Miramar beach area, Panaji, Goa. Contact: goaengineer...@aol.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Teachers, You are a part of that Great Fraternity which has produced great men and women from all walks of life and from all communities. Be proud of the service that you are rendering to society in spite of all the hardships. Let your teaching be an inspiration to all pupils. Be not disheartened and discouraged if your efforts and hardwork seem not recognized by society at large. The rewards of teaching do not lie in receiving the State Teachers Award or the National Teachers Award. The rewards of teaching come from a shy but sincere "thank you teacher" from a student who has grasped what you have taught, or a greeting from a student who has long left your school and meets you in the market. These are the true rewards for a teacher. Wishing you a Very Happy and Joyful Teachers' Day 2009. Albert replies - I do not think there is any better award to a teacher than to be recognised by his/her pupils. I had taught for 30 years. First five in St.Rita Rita's High school Colvale when I was a bit raw and the remaining 25 years in St.Francis Xavier's High School Siolim. For me it was a matter of principles and I would not comprise on any values. I was a bit harsh on students but later part of my life as a teacher I tried to understand them too. I always had a feeling that I was not liked by my pupils but I was wrong. Today I am retired and many of my pupils are scattered all over the world but they remember me and my love to them. They will stop anywhere and everywhere just to say Hallo sir and to inquire about my health and sometimes spend hours together in talking to me. Many times when I tend to apologise to them for harsh treatment but they always say it was necessary for which they are grateful to me. They value the morals that I taught them. I would spend time and talk to them on moral values emphasizing on honesty and dignity of labour. _________________________________________________________________ Log on to MSN India for a lowdown on what’s hot in the world today http://in.msn.com
