While tuned in to the evergreen Konkani hit song 'Swetor kori' (apparently also known by other titles) via AIR FM Rainbow at around 1.45 pm on a Friday post-lunch afternoon here, a thought....
Francis Rodrigues, while release his Greatest Konkani Song Hits recently, made this comment. He said the body of popular Konkani songs (cantaram) was made up of some 25,000 songs. Of these, he said, Alfred Rose alone sang an amazing 5,000. Would anyone know if these figures reflect reality? Is there some way the songs could be counted?
