It is true that poverty and basic need lead to crime. This is so even when the 
need is a self-imposed one, such as drug addition. However, murder is not an 
ordinary crime. It takes a particularly extreme form of mentality or 
psychopathy to commit it. Strangling a person with bare hands is especially 
difficult for an ordinary criminal to do, and impossible for a normal person 
endowed with conventional inhibitions.
