It has 3 palaces with pond and bridge When asked what this place is called, we told by a migrant lady ‘Amruth Nagar’ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk23/4223693482/sizes/l/ Video on all above – Margao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNpgqcFdmaA Then we came out on the Borda Circle ( Bolshe Big Foot Circle), on the road, there was another crib with castle, bridge etc http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk23/4223694756/sizes/l/ Then we went to Raia church, in the fields opposite, there was a crib in the water and they had it last year too. See pic http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk22/4221898598/sizes/l/ There used to be a crib near Rachol Seminary, but there was none, instead we found one opp Rachol Church. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk22/4221899342/sizes/l/ It has a large bridge for the public to walk. Which is a part of the crib. It had several messages but camera could not capture it was done in the highlighter pen. May be at night it is brighter with the light reflection. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk22/4221899986/sizes/l/ Then we went to Zuvem (Ilha de Rachol), sadly, it was close for public during the day. But we managed to get in with the permission from a house near by. It has a narrow tunnel to go in and one had to bend a lot Inside it was complete dark as, this time, they used some unfinished construction project. By using our camera flash we managed to capture some castles. One was made up of used tube lights. See pic There were at least 3 others. It also had some lively fields. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk22/4221140137/sizes/l/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk22/4221140751/sizes/l/ Then we took the road to Nuvem via Manora/Kirbota. On the Cansaulim road junction, there we saw a large crib in the field. It’s at Verna Manzar. It had small but beautiful while palace, besides large pond (with huge tigur/fish in it). It has fountain and other castles too. See pic/clip. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk22/4221142025/sizes/l/ Then via Cansaulim, Market, we went to Velsao, Belem (near Velsao-Pale). There, it was closed for some maintenance work but we managed to take some pics. It has beautiful castle too. There were 3 in all. In a pond there were plenty of fish and two tortoise. It had fountain too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk23/4221188901/sizes/l/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk23/4221189495/sizes/l/ Video on all above: Utorda/Majorda, Raia, Rachol, Nuvem Verna, Velsao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVz5LsMha1M Notes: Usually, all cribs designed for night presentation/illumination etc. People start flocking after 7 pm and it may go on past midnight. But sadly, one cannot take good pictures in the dim lights even by using flash.. All cribs have hills, fountains, ponds, bridges, fields, palaces etc Cansaulim, is well known for its beautiful palaces. All the places we visited are the regulars who present their art/talents year after year and at the same venue. Sometimes, we come to know new ones through word of mouth or by local news papers. Strangely, our dailies did not show much interest this year. However, one Marathi News paper, ‘Lok Mat’ dtd 26/12, has one full page in color dedicated to Cribs and there were about 8 different cirbs mainly from Salcette. Like some Gananpati Dekavas, there are no photography/videography restrictions and there are no sale of lottery tickets at the entrance or exit points. However, there may be a small donation box if someone wishes to insert in appreciation of the art. Again. you don’t have to remove your footwear. It takes them average 2 months to complete their Crib projects, in some cases may be more. Most cribs remain open for public till 6th January, some may till 11th.
