>Goan, Goan...

>Maseeh Rahman

While this is a romantic view of Goa, the writer fails to answer
the question --- why are Goans selling their land ? How many
Goans dont want to sell their land ?

Unless, Goans --- and many are living not even a hand-to-mouth
existence --- are given jobs or work hard or find a way of making
a good living in an alternate fashion, they will continue to sell
their land to the highest bidder.

The problem of creating jobs is a difficult one. It also means
Goans will have to confront some hard truths like give up their
susegaad lifestyle.

So, it looks to me it is
better to create a romantized notion and live in a
delusional world, as is done by this writer.
