Dear Raj,

A most sensible post that I have seen in a long time.
MARG FARG sogle poixe ogdaupachim kama'm. Somebody has to do something to feel important. If that something is result oriented or not nobody bothers or cares.
We all want to bark up the tree but nothing worthwhile is happening.

Goasuraj has been shouting from the roof tops for a decade now and to give substance to that shouting, we have brought out the Road Map for Goa. I don't think any of those who are vomitting on this forum have read the Road Map. We call it a document of a lifetime.

As you have said, the rot is at the top. Yes. Very right. Goa Su-Raj has always stood for decapitation of the entire system like you have suggested. Goa needs a System Change and for once, not the High Command System change because this system can never change.

The Chapter on Public Transport & RTO in the said Road Map for Goa lists (1) Standardization of vehicle number plates (2) Road Markings (3) Automatic Traffice signals (4) Speed Breakers (5) Road Safety (6) Vehicular Pollution (7) Horns & Uses (8) Silence Zones (9) Road Marshals (10) Public Parking

I think most of what you have said is included in the above and more.

MARG, in the first place, must know that there is something called the WHIP. And certainly it is not found anywhere close to Digu-bab. MARG for all I care ( "I" ... meaning the whole weight of the organization called Goa Su-Raj) is a wasted exercise to keep its promoters self-satisfied that they are doing something, and ofcourse, with a lot of money down the drain.
:-))

Cheers
floriano

PS: This will hurt Samir, but I don't care. When it comes to GOA, family and friends don't count.
PS2: Thank you for your invigorating post.

Subject: [Goanet] Traffic issues...

I have been reading with interest, postings by young Samir about
traffic issues, and what he thinks is a great job done by MARG in
educating people - he says 'tens of thousands of people, students, bus
conductors, bus drivers...." So who is left behind??!!!

What a load of rubbish. The rot is at the top, and not at the bottom
where the poor people are. >

Parking is no priority, so where
do you expect people to park their cars? Imagine the national waste
having hundreds of cars circling round the city looking for a car
park. What a waste of precious fuel! Every residential building must
have its own space to park cars of the residents so they dont use the
public roads to park their cars. Every commercial building must have
space for customer parking. The city has to grow outwards and not
towards its roads.

Wake up Samir, wake up Digu, wake up Kelekar Sr.
I challenge Samir to stop the rut of corruption at the top first. And
if Samir cannot take up that challenge, I throw the challenge open to
others on this forum. Others like Rajan Parrikar, Anil Dessai etc!!
It does not matter where you guys are, or what citizenships you hold.
I love the saying: "You can take a Goan out of Goa, but cannot take
Goa out of the Goan"

Let us make our Goa a better place. A better place for us, and an even
better place for our grandchildren in the years to come.

Raj
