Mr. P. Fernandes was given the honour of catering to our present
Queen, when she and the Duke visited Kenya in 1952(she was then Princess
Elizabeth.
Goans. in the early days in Kenya, were also businessmen; a one-time Mayor
of Nairobi(Alderman Gregory) is quoted to have
remarked in 1905 - "All the grocers are Goan"
