Not believing in God, in itself is act of courage. It puts the onus of responsibility squarely on man's shoulders. It is arrived at through a great deal of introspection rather than indoctrination. To admit it openly is a tremendous act of courage. I think with this admission he has successfully jettisoned his public career but as he has said several times, he has no political aspirations.
