FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE Villagers of Orlim went for the Public Grievance meeting adjourned from 15th to 22nd April at 11 am at the TCP office and were not surprised to find that the Builder Anand Batra from Meenaxi Financial Consultants selling under the name of Ratan Exotica was absent from the said meeting . After waiting the Town Planners proceeded with the meeting it was pointed out by the villagers that there exist a 3 meter wide road which does not directly a butt the builders property .The existing road built by mutual consent passes through 86/20 which is Fabrica of Orlim's property and since the property on both sides of the road are that of the Fabrica of Orlim and inaccessible to the builder .He has misrepresented facts and shown a proposed 8 mt wide road with an existing 4 mt road touching his property which is not trure .Further the TCP was questioned who proposed this 8 mt wide road since it was not put to the Panchayat or discussed at any Gram Sabha. The Fabrica of Orlim has lodged a strong protest with the TCP with evidence of trespassing wherein the said builder has uprooted coconut saplings in the night from fabrica property in order to clear the way to enter .A police complaint made nearly 8 moths back but no action has been taken till date by the police against the culprit . It was also pointed out by Mr Patric Cardozo that the builder has revised the plans to get certain licences passed by some departments this was done without putting the revised plan to the Panchayat for approval first as should be the case . The easement rights of the farmers have been stopped as a result they have not cultivated and are finding access to the fields very difficult in trying to grow their fields now. It was brought to the attention of the TCP again that since the last meeting adjourned land filling and construction in the low lying area of the paddy field continues and has been intensified .It was pointed out that violations under section 17A attracts 17 B which is a cognizable offence .It was pointed out and questioned as to why the TCP was dragging their feet in booking the builder . The Town planner Putturaju assured the villagers that he would look into the matter and take suitable action the villagers told him that this was the last opportunity he and his department had to right the wrongs committed as his department was intimated about all the present problems since 2008 and they did nothing as a result the matter had got to this stage . It appears that all the departments have not taken their jobs seriously as the Collector issued the Sanad to a property which does not have road access further he has converted paddy fields with a remark not being cultivated -One fails to understand does he expect a man to come from Kanpur to cultivate !! .How about the neighbouring fields which form a larger part of this Eco system are they to suffer because one man is not cultivating his field ??These are serious questions the said departments issuing the licences have to answer for . It was pointed out as inexcusable to quote as settlement a field as per 2001 plan as a lot of discrepancies were noticed in the said plan and rectified by the village committee including the field in question . The Panchayat of Orlim too with the Health department has a lot to explain .The infrastructure not being in place the NOC for construction should not have been given villagers hare having tremendous hardships with lack or very poor supply of water and an erratic inconsistent electric supply . The Town planner has promised to act fast in a matter of days and we hope that its better late than Never .
