Soter couldn't be more right.

I got a call from the blue and the Blue Berry Hill was teeming with activists on 17 May. Could you do the needful on your part to send this alert to all in North Goa???

Was I surprised?

But I took the short cut and did the needful on the internet.

Agnelo Pinheiro and Joanna Pyres came with their support but apprehensive on the short notice for such a gathering. And I have put down my apprehensions to them too.

Who the hell am I to dis-unite Goans when unity is elusive like the silver lining in the sky?
Any small streak cannot be ignored.

I am getting ready to proceed to collect the berries at Blue Berry Hill. Very close to Meta Strips of fame where the activist who vowed to break it down brick by brick and even fasted on the roads eventually gave clean chit to this disaster in waiting at official level :-))

Again, Soter couldn't be more right about the hurriedly hand written foot-note about CSJP. It looks like the army that the Church commands is eyed for very badly. Hopefully it is keeping itself warmed-up thro' regular march pasts.

Subject: [Goanet] ENOUGH IS NEVER ENOUGH AT BLUE BERRY HILL

ENOUGH NEVER SEEMS ENOUGH FOR GULLIBLE GOANS. The Goan summer of old was a time for beat shows by the sea side and collecting tasty berries on the hills. But Goan villagers seem to never have enough of their emotuions being exploited with all promises of a better and secure tomorrow never being fulfilled for the last 49 years. Latest news is that they are now invited to converge at some Blue Berry Hill. The event is as much shrouded in mystery as that of 3rd December 2006 meeting when GBA was formed to oppose the RP 2011. The loud and clear message to the government is that the Good, Bad or Ugly Goan cannot embark upon any mission without invoking the name of the Church which has been a convenient door mat for ambitious and exploitative forces in Goa. A foot note of the latest Blue Berry Hill event reads: "This alert has the consent of Fr. Maverick Fernandes of CSPJ [Council for Social Peace & Justice] to announce in the Churches of Goa." Learnings from Goa's post-liberation political history reveals that whatever is done in a hurry must be a cause to worry for the Goan. The involvement of a cocktail of lawyer-politicians and social worker-politicians is added reason for extra caution. The monsoons are fast approaching and the Blue Berry Hill Show of 17th May 2010 may well turn out to be one of those 'Purumentachem festas' for political opportunists and their agents. The strong will bask in glory while the weak will be left licking their wounds for years together. That is what the anti-Meta Strips agitation or the konkani movement or the anti-RP 2011 Abhiyan has taught us. Save Goa will be merged with the Congress no sooner the elections are over. The credit for any good will be reaped by the political leaders and their agents whereas all the bad will be conveniently dumped on the church to atone for down the centuries. Those poor who turn out in large numbers will continue to be dubbed as anti-nationals by those very leaders who climb on their shoulders to enjoy political bliss.
