Interesting someone remembered Garincha. According to some, he was greater than Pele (who they claim stole the limelight) and was a kind and a gentle soul. He died a under pretty miserable conditions, battling depression, pennyless, forgotten and consumed by alcohol (similar to Raphael, a non-Goan who played for Vasco and Goa).
What they also realized Garincha was so great with the ball because of a deformity in one of his legs. Apparently, it was almost impossible to get the ball off his feet (again, something similar to the great Vasco player, Domnic). Here is a Garincha video: http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=gAwBeP5T-y8&feature=fvw I have a strange suspicion the Bra-Port game was a fixed result. Difficult to prove but we know the ways of the old Lucio world *you rub my back, I rub yours*. What happened before the finals at the Stade de France (a la the real Ronaldo) is still being speculated in the Brazilian press. I suspect it was the bet*ing business!
