Source Letter :: Tehelka Hi, We have not met – I am Gunjan Batra and work with Tehelka. Tehelka is an iconic media house and the fastest growing English weekly magazine in India. It is independent, fearless and stands strongly for public interest. Under the editorship of Tarun Tejpal, it has very quickly established an enviable reputation — national and international — for the quality of its reportage, the eminence of its writers and the refinement of its analyses and ideas. The reason I am writing to you now is that Tehelka is in a great growth phase and we are launching a long-cherished dream: the Tehelka School of Journalism called “Source”. Given Tehelka’s history and reputation, this promises to be a great venture that will hopefully nurture new generations of idealistic young journalists with a strong commitment to public interest. Since you have been someone who has been involved in helping bring about a change in the lives of the underprivileged, we were wondering if you would like to be associated with the new school and sponsor some journalism fellowships for underprivileged students at a value of Rs 1.45 lakhs each for the one-year diploma course, or Rs 45,000 each for the three-month certificate course. In case you would like more details please do contact me.
