Terribly encouraged by the 'Arvind Kerjiwal' and 'Ms. Swati' generated
discourse at the Rotary Club Sponsored Manoshanti Hotel recently, the need
to make 'Gram Sabhas' at Panchayat level and 'Mohalla Committees' at
Municipal level stronger to bring in actual DEMOCRACY to this country/state
where no DEMOCRACY worth it's salt exists, the PEOPLE OF MAPUSA are
deliberating among themselves the pros and cons of organizing themselves to
contest the next Mapusa Municipal Elections on a ' PEOPLE'S PANEL' basis as
proposed by our 'article' on 'Panel' based elections to the self governing
bodies.

We wish the people of Mapusa all the very best. If only this attempt is
made to succeed, the Mapusa Town and most importantly the Mapusa Market and
the Mapusa River will benefit enormously, as the rotten state of affairs
presently existing, and which has been existing for decades, will certainly
get a breath of fresh air and stop the parallel economy generated for the
luxury of the individual Council members rather than for the benefit of the
People of Mapusa.
Needless to say that the People of Mapusa will never opt for anything else
as and when the power of the people is demonstrated to work wonders.
A special thank you to the people of Mapusa for being the first to embark
on this very important and sensitive project and wish you God Speed in this
very serious and constructive decision making process which could be the
shot in the arm for the whole of Goa.
