Update:
I got a mail confirming that KA pays 80% of the gate receipts and not 50% as stated (which I think I got from tiatrist themselves). With 80% payout, it comes to about 4,000 more in the stated example. In another news item in today's TOI, it was said professional Tiatrist/group got 75% of the gate receipts too (First popular tiatr festival by TAG Feb.2010). Which means they got another 25,000+ if the show was houseful, I know most of them were full. Margao Pai Tiatrist Hall Capacity is around 1150 and the tickets were priced at Rs.30 Looks like the partipating groups got over 50,000 and the winners got upto 70,000
