Not necessarily the cause, but may aggravate the psoriasis due to high content
of yeast, although medical studies (google beer psoriasis) seem to concentrate
on women's tendency to develop psoriasis with high consumption of beer.

There are different triggers to developing psoriasis, ranging from severe sore
throats to adult chicken-pox, to work-stresses. Question is whether the
beer-drinkers drink beer because of stress, and then the yeast in beer assists
the stress-laden person to trigger psoriasis, or whether the beer alone
triggers
off the condition.

On a different note, it has been my lay-person's observation that for a person
with psoriasis, the site of any skin damage due to other causes e.g severe cuts
or burns, aka skin-trauma, can result in psoriasis on that spot. Constant skin
irritation (e.g. wearing a watch, using crutches) can cause psoriasis in those
areas of skin.
