Secondly, the last time I planted edibles, I lost half my friends for the following reason. When it starts, asparagus shoots up one inch a day. Out of the goodness of my heart and not because my wife informed me of the limit to how many times a week we would prepare soup, I dutifully went out every weekend, cut the shoots and took them over to our friends and neighbours. Well one day I overheard the following: "Don't answer the doorbell! It's Mervyn again trying to dump his vegetables on us." Since then, I have stuck to blossoms only. This keeps the wife very happy and especially so when they are yellow/golden. Here is what is on my yard this lovely September. Concentrate on the beauty and ignore any distractions please. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45002...@n00/sets/72157624889376051/ Mervyn1292LoboYes1292Lobo
